Australia’s veteran all rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s very own domestic T20 competition, the Big Bash.
Watson was snapped by Sydney Sixers last year, who were the champions of the inaugural competition, but he could not play a single match due to injury issues.
"My priority will be to play as much cricket for Australia as I can this summer but the BBL is an exciting thing to be a part of. I love T20 cricket and I'm looking forward to being back home playing in front of friends and family,"
said Watson.
The league’s contract window opened on July 9th and will go up to the 20th. During the period several players moved to different sides while a couple new were signed on.
While giving the reason for leaving the champions and joining Brisbane Heat, Watson said the main reason for his switch was the motivation factor of Coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Darren-Scott-Lehmann-c52487, under whom he has played in Queensland as well.
"Boof [Lehmann] is a great bloke and has made a really big impact as a coach since he went down that path," shared Watson.
"I know the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 boys have really enjoyed their cricket under him and it seems a really great fit for me to join the Heat and get to work with him," he added further.
Watson, who made his T20 debut for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 at Chelmsford in 2004, has so far played 83 T20s and scored 2233 runs at an impressive average of 32.36 with the help of 19 fifties. He has also taken 66 wickets with a best of 4-15 and a strike
rate of 20.4.

Watoo’s new team, Brisbane heat, failed to reach the semi finals last year as they finished 5th in the league with 6 points from 7 matches.
Second edition of Big Bash League kicks off on December 16 at Sydney Cricket Ground, with the opening match to be played between defending champions Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat.
