Shane Watson learning from Rahul Dravid – Cricket News Update
Rajasthan Royals’ premier all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229, and expressed that he has learnt a lot by sharing the dressing room with the legendary Indian cricketer.
Dravid is considered to be one of the greatest Test batsmen in modern-day sport. The ‘wall of India’ has more than 24000 runs in international cricket with 48 centuries. The right-handed batsman held the Indian batting together for almost a decade and a
half but announced his retirement from the game earlier this year.
However, the 39-year-old cricketer is still playing for the Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and replaced http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672 as the captain this year. His team has had a mixed tournament this season and is currently at number six in the points table with
five wins in eleven matches.
Watson, who has been an integral part of the Royals since 2008, expressed that Dravid is a thorough professional and a role-model for every budding cricketer. The Aussie all-rounder feels that the experience of the former Indian captain has been valuable
for his team.
"I think, he is just been a really brilliant influence on me to just to talk to him about cricket and just the way he has lived his life. He has been a great influence on me just to remain calm through every situation,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326.
The top-order batsman joined his franchise late in the current season as he was busy playing the Test series in the Caribbean. Adjusting from the five-day version of the sport to the shortest format of the game can be tricky at times but Watson revealed
that he did not find it very hard to change his game.
The all-rounder believes, “It can take one or two games to be able [to switch] and a little bit of practice to get going from Test cricket to Twenty20. To get your Twenty20 attacking strokes in the groove, more than anything [you need a bit of time].”
Watson played a huge role in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 last week and the management will be hoping that the all-rounder can perform consistently in the remainder of the tournament.
