Shane Watson ranked among the greatest One Day International Cricketers
Australia's stunning all-rounder, Shane Watson has been ranked among the greatest players of ODI cricket.
The ranking was released by the Indian company, Impact Index Cricket, which is about to launch its own website. The company has made public only the names of the top 25 players who it deemed to have been the most effective players in the entire history of
cricket.
Placed at number one is Vivian Richards from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. Australia’s Adam Gilchrist is placed in the fourth spot.
In the presence of these greats, the flamboyant all-rounder, Watson, is ranked the 16th most effective player. To be at number 16 amongst the best players that ever lived is, no doubt, an honor for the Aussie opener. The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 native, who
just couldn't believe it when he heard the news, was almost speechless. "What?", he asked when told. "Goodness me, that sounds wrong- sounds very wrong".
Watson, without a doubt, has become the most valuable player for the Australians. The player played a huge role in Australia's victory against England in the first ODI, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where he scored an unbeaten innings of 161 runs while
helping his team chase a huge target of 294 runs. Australia won the match by 6 wickets with 5 balls remaining.
Watson, who made his debut in 2002, said, "My game has developed around One-Day Cricket because that is where my cricket, at the highest level, started out, for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746".
Speaking about his bowling, the Aussie said, "I didn't get an opportunity to bat when I first started out, so it really helped develop my bowling, which I didn't feel was my greatest strength. It's been a form where I got to improve my skills".
The phenomenal all-rounder hoped that he would be able to take his form to the World Cup and play an important role in defending Australia's title.
"Going into the World Cup in the position I am is always nice, but you can't think too far ahead. Things change pretty quickly in this game, as I have learned from past experience," he said.
Recent months have been exceptionally well on the Australian, and in times when most of the Australian legends, such http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 is a blessing for the Australian side.
