It will be the first time the 30-year-old will ply his trade against the Proteas on their home-soil, and having achieved success against all other cricketing nations, he is hoping that he continues his good form against a strong Proteas line up.

"It's going to be a great challenge," Watson said. "Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel are some of the best bowlers in the world at the moment, in all forms of the game. It's something that I've really been looking forward to, being able to play Test cricket over
here in South Africa. It's something that I haven't done. It's going to be a huge challenge of my game and what I'm made of.

Due to this added pressure, he missed the teams loss in the second T20 game against the Proteas and consequently was deemed unfit for the first one-dayer. He returned to the second ODI but aggravated his hip injury and had to leave the field in the middle
of his over – a match which his side lost.
However, after being declared fit for the third and deciding match of the One Day series, Watto proved his mettle with a fine Player of the Match performance, which helped the team clinch the ODI series 2-1.
