Shaneboy Fantasy’s triumph helped him in setting new statistics for the track record after winning Mannion Builders Supplies Open 750 Finals
The Grade OR race Mannion Builders Supplies Open 750 Finals, was impressively won by the ideal greyhound of the show. Trainer P Kiely’s hound was fairly swift form the beginning of his quest, later on his tempting speed became beneficial, which not only
assisted him in finishing first, but setting new figures in the record list.
With the finest odds of 5 – 4 F, the trap 2 racer Shaneboy Fantasy was sent in for the mouth watering purse, and auspiciously setting a track record he also accomplished winning the prize money for trainer P Kiely. With an astonishing and startling tempo
the two-year-old initiated his victorious chase.
Wearing blue and white jacket the young hound kept his rallying speed constant and soon he was able to acquire the leading position. Remaining at the pointer spot in 41.34 seconds, P Kiely’s dog succeeded in covering the trip of 750 meters, and wrapped up
his combat at first place.
Following him by 7 lengths was I Reilly’s trap 3 racer Droopys Casanova, who with the odds of 10 – 1, managed to place himself at second place. The black dog rallying through the dirt of Shelbourne Park with a slothful and time consuming pace was not able
to acquire the leading spot.
His lethargic speed was the reason for his defeat. In 41.90 seconds the trap 3 racer wrapped up his chase for trainer I Reilly.
The third hound who managed to cross over was trainer Leahy’s Welesbourne Dan, a trap 1 racer. The black hound was over thrown by Droopys Casanova due to his uninspiring rate of knots.
In the total time of 41.98 seconds, trainer Leahy’s hound was able to cross the finish line.
Following Welesbourne Dan by 5 ½ lengths was Peggys Style a black b***h, who was in the chase for trainer P Cronin. The two-year-old hound’s victory was quite far-fetched, due to her extremely slow run rate.
With the odds of 5 – 1 trainer P Cronin’s b***h defeated trainer Gilbert’s Leap Of Faith, who managed to finish at fifth place.
Unfortunately, the hound did turn in an impressive effort during the race, in fact at one point his abrupt speed became a threat for the rest of the hounds, but later on his chase got hindered.
The last hound who assisted in concluding the event was Cherrygrove Cool. Trainer Murphy’s brindle dog unfortunately finished sixth in 42.70 seconds, due to his slow speed.
Shaneboy Fantasy was the only hound who was placed in the lime light because of his fantastic chase, which not only helped him in winning the purse, but he was also honoured with the title of setting a track record at the Shelbourne Park.
