Shanghai Minhang wins Men’s 800m freestyle relay title in Nanchang: Chinese National City Games
Shanghai Minhang gave a stunning effort in freestyle relay meet at the 2011 Chinese National City Games, in Nanchang, China, on Thursday, October 20. The session of the competition organised the Men’s 800m freestyle relay title.
Shanghai Minhang’s squad started the final race in confident fashion and chucked out their rivals, Nanjing and Zhengzhou by hitting the finishing mark in a winning time of 7 minutes and 25.95 seconds to win the Men’s 800m freestyle relay title on the podium.
The scintillating swimming effort of the team improved the national rankings of Shanghai Minhang.
At the same time, Nanjing’s swimming team came out strongly and gave a full burst over their competitor, Zhengzhou, by thrashing the finishing wall in an awe inspiring time of time of 7 minutes and 27.96 seconds to earn silver title of the platform. The
bronze medal went to the youngsters of Zhengzhou with a time of 7 minutes and 29.02 seconds.
In addition, the session of the meet saw some stunning performances in the semi-final heats of the evening. Jianbin went on to win the Men’s 100m freestyle semi-final heat by posting a winning time of 50.45 seconds, while Zeng Xianliang earned second place
honours in a time of 50.69 seconds. The third place went to Zhang Yiqing with a mark of 50.93 seconds.
Moreover, Li Tingting clinched the Women’s 200m butterfly semi-final heat by hitting the finishing wall with a nerve wrecking time of 2 minutes and 11.80 seconds. Sun Lulu claimed second position by posting a time of 2 minutes and 12.93 seconds, whereas,
Wang Yuge rounded out the top three by submitting an impressive time of 2 minutes and 13.23 seconds.
Furthermore, the Men’s 200m breast-stroke semi-final heat was notched by Li Xiang with a fastest time of 2 minutes and 17.17 seconds. In the meantime, the second place went to Sun Chenwei in a time of 2 minutes and 17.34 seconds, whereas, the third place
result was not posted on the portal due to some technical problems.
