Shanghai claims Women’s 800m freestyle relay title: Day one - 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals
Day one of the 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals ended with several scintillating swims in Rizhao, China, on Thursday, September 22. Shanghai secured gold medal in the Women’s 800m freestyle relay, while Zhou earned golden crown in the Men’s 100m butterfly.
Wang Shun won gold medal in the Men’s 400m Individual Medley race, whereas, Tang Yi captured golden crown in the Women’s 100m freestyle final heat. Lu Ying won Women’s 50m butterfly title. Shao Yiwen secured gold medal in the Women’s 800m freestyle, while
s**+ Tengfei earned gold in the Men’s 50m freestyle. Last, but not the least, Zhejiang won the Men’s 800m freestyle relay crown.
Shanghai team hit the wall in 7 minutes and 59.60 seconds to win the gold medal, while Beijing earned gold medal in the Men’s 400m freestyle relay final heat with a winning mark of 3 minutes and 20.99 seconds.
In the Men’s 100m butterfly race, Zhou Jiawei earned golden crown with a sterling mark of 52.43 seconds. Zhang Qibing wound up second in a time of 52.64 seconds, while Chen Weiwu settled third in a time of 52.77 seconds.
Wang Shun secured gold medal in the Men’s 400m IM race with a triumphant mark of 4 minutes and 11.61 seconds. In the corresponding race, Huang Chaosheng finished second in a time of 4:12.54 minutes and Yang Zhixian settled third in a time of 4:13.77 minutes.
Meanwhile, Tang Yi won the Women’s 100m freestyle title with a winning time of 54.65 seconds. Wang Shijia earned silver with a matchless mark of 55.38 seconds, whereas, Zheng Yanan captured bronze with a mark of 55.49 seconds.
Moreover, Lu Ying clinched the Women’s 50m butterfly title with a victorious mark of 25.99 seconds. Ling Shuyuan finished second in a time of 26.64 seconds, while Jiao Liuyang earned third spot in a time of 26.75 seconds.
Shao Yiwen topped the Women's 800m freestyle race with a unique mark of 8:24.78 minutes, while Li Xuanxu finished second in 8:25.18 minutes. Bi Yirong settled third in a time of 8:34.09 minutes.
In addition, s**+ Tengfei won the Men’s 50m freestyle title with a winning mark of 22.66 seconds. s**+ Yang wound up second in a time of 22.79 seconds, while Hu Yue settled third in a time of 22.92 seconds.
Zhejiang took home the Men's 800m freestyle relay title in 7:21.25 minutes. Tianjing earned silver in a time of 7:24.74 minutes, while Jiangsu rounded out the top three in 7:27.95 minutes.
The arena applauded for matchless swims of all swimmers, while the victorious were awarded accolades after the session’s completion.
