Shanghai claims three gold medals in 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals – Swimming news
Shanghai’s athletes gave their best attempts in the long course events at the 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals, in Rizhao, China. The national swimming championships were held from September 22-25. The session of the competition conducted several unique
and versatile races.
Initially, Shanghai took home the Women’s 4x100m freestyle relay title on the podium. They also won the Women’s 4x200m freestyle relay crown, while Shanghai team clinched their third gold medal in the Women’s 4x100m medley relay event. On the other side,
Guangdong secured the gold medal in the Men’s 4x100m medley relay. Beijing earned gold medal in the Men’s 4x100m freestyle relay, while Zhejiang captured the Men’s 4x200m freestyle relay crown of the platform.
In the Women’s 4x100m freestyle relay final heat, Shanghai team powered the wall in 3 minutes and 43.10 seconds to win the golden crown of the platform. In the corresponding race, Guangzhou Army took home the silver medal on the podium by posting a winning
time of 3 minutes and 43.63 seconds. Meanwhile, Shandong secured the bronze medal on the podium by submitting a matchless time of 3 minutes and 43.80 seconds.
Shanghai swimming team claimed their second gold medal in the Women’s 4x200m freestyle relay meet by posting a winning time of 7 minutes and 59.60 seconds. In the corresponding splash, Shandong earned silver medal on the podium by submitting a striking time
of 8 minutes and 00.89 seconds, whereas, Zhejiang earned bronze title of the platform with a riveting mark of 8 minutes and 01.57 seconds.
In addition, Shanghai took home their third golden crown of the platform in the Women’s 4x100 medley relay final heat by posting a decisive time of 4 minutes and 02.76 seconds. In the corresponding heat, Shandong claimed silver medal on the podium by submitting
an intriguing time of 4 minutes and 04.51seconds. Meanwhile, Zhenjiang snared bronze title with a mark of 4:04.54 minutes.
Then, the Men’s 4x100m medley relay crown of the platform was clinched by Guangdong with a triumphant mark of 3 minutes and 38.57 seconds. Shanghai settled with silver medal on the podium by submitting a striking mark of 3 minutes and 38.63 seconds, while
Beijing earned bronze title on the podium by posting a time of 3 minutes and 42.96 seconds.
In the meantime, Beijing came out strongly in the Men’s 4x100m freestyle relay final heat and claimed their first gold medal in the long course meet by posting a winning time of 3 minutes and 20.99 seconds. In the corresponding splash, Zhejiang took home
the silver medal on the podium by submitting a mark of 3 minutes and 21.27 seconds, while Shanghai claimed bronze in a time of 3 minutes and 21.58 seconds.
Last, but not the least, Zhejiang powered the wall in 7 minutes and 21.25 seconds to win the Men’s 4x200m freestyle relay title on the podium. Meanwhile, Tianjing grabbed silver title with a mark of 7 minutes and 24.74 seconds and Jiangsu settled for bronze
with an impressive mark of 7 minutes and 27.95 seconds.
