Shannon Brown, J.R. Smith - Guards Derrick Rose and Chicago Bulls need for a NBA Title (Part-1)

Last regular season, under the mercurial leadership of Tom Thibodeau and brilliance of Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls emerged from an underrated position and toppled elite Eastern Conference foes like Boston Celtics and Miami Heat,
to post a league best 62-20 record.
Bulls continued the domination and made it into the Eastern Conference Finals. However, the lack of experience and especially insufficient support on the offense for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Rose became big reasons for Chicago
Bulls’ demise against the streaking Miami Heat.
Even though, Bulls finished as the top seed in their Conference and they have the potential to do it again in the next season as well. However, in order to contend for their first NBA title since Michael Jordan Championship era,
the franchise seriously needs to consider strengthening the supporting cast in the backcourt for their superstar Derrick. This will cover the shortfall that became apparent in the series against Miami Heat during the play-offs.
The All-Star Derrick Rose did guide the team on the top single-handedly in the regular season. However, contending for the Championship title against the top teams of NBA makes the task much more difficult. If the 22 years old
Rose pairs up with one of the explosive guards of the league, the Bulls definitely will have favourable chances to win it all in the next season, whenever it happens.
Here is the list of some dynamic guards Chicago Bulls can acquire to form a formidable duo in the next season.
Shannon Brown
After an abysmal end in the play-offs, the 25-year-old shooting guard Shannon Brown terminated his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and made himself available as a free agent.
Brown is incredibly athletic on the court and his ability to dominate from beyond the arc can help any team like Chicago Bulls who needs a little push in winning an NBA title. Having Shannon Brown on the roster, the Bulls will
not only receive a much needed boost up on the backcourt, a lot of pressure from the sharp-shooter Derrick Rose will be removed which will enable him to try things differently.
Although Brown’s average of 8.7 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in the last season is not very impressive. However, he was not the frontrunner for the Los Angeles Lakers and received less playing minutes. If Chicago Bulls acquire
Brown for the next season and give him the responsibility on the backcourt, Shannon will definitely play a vital role to help the franchise overcome their weakness.
J.R. Smith
Three-point threat J.R. Smith, who last played for the Denver Nuggets, is a perfect player for Chicago Bulls to make a formidable duo with their superstar Derrick Rose. Smith has emerged as an outstanding player in the last couple
of years and powered the Nuggets from both ends of the court.
Unlike Brown, Smith is more mature and dangerous as a shooter and at the same time contributes towards the defence strategically. Smith averaged 12.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in the last season with the Nuggets which will
only get better with the passage of time.
With Smith and Rose on the roster, Bulls offensive and defensive system will be well taken care of.
