Shannon Brown stars as Phoenix Suns send Charlotte Bobcats to their 13th straight loss – NBA Recap
Shannon Brown posted a season-high 26 points on 10 of 16 including five 3-pointers as Phoenix Suns sent the Charlotte Bobcats crashing to their 13th consecutive loss on Wednesday night at US Airways Center, Phoenix.
"If we run our offense, it ain't like I'm doing one-on-one moves and stuff like that," Brown said after the game. "I just want to continue that rhythm and take good shots."
Goran Dragic notched up a double-double with 21 points and 11 assists while Jared Dudley added 20 points for the Suns, who made 17 three pointers on the night and have now won four straight games for the first time since the 2010-11
season. They have now improved to an 11-15 record.
"I thought we shot it well because we had good ball movement," said Suns coach Alvin Gentry. "We were taking it from the strong side to the weak side and we had their bigs in rotation so we were able to get some 3s with our feet
set."
Sebastian Telfair scored all of his 11 points in the second quarter, during the early part of which, the hosts outscored Bobcats 22-6 to establish a stronghold at 50-33.
Bobcat tried hard to harness the lead, but the shots just kept on coming from the Suns, who were leading 64-46 at the break.
The start of the third quarter was all about Brown. The guard was just sensational, scoring 15 of the first 17 Phoenix points, and propelling his team to a 81-54 lead. A 10-2 Bobcats run was then answered by a 13-2 response, which
included three triples, as the hosts stretched their advantage to 30 points, 96-66, the biggest lead of the game. The third quarter ended at 97-68.
The Bobcats started the last 12 minutes with a 21-5 run to come within 15, but by then it was way too late.
Kemba Walker topped the Bobcats with 27 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist chipped in with 25 for the Bobcats. Walker seemed resigned after the loss, trying to take the positives out.
"We're a young team. We still feel pretty confident in ourselves. As long as we're getting better, we definitely will all just come together. Good things are going to happen for us.”
