Shanshan Feng keeps hopes alive for Ricoh Women's British Open 2012
Chinese Shanshan Feng is feeling no stress — even after facing big rivals in recent tournaments and missing a chance to win her second victory of her career, but she has fixed her eyes on the coming Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012.
The Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012 is going to be held from September 13-16, at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Wirral, United Kingdom, with a strong roster containing nearly all the top-ranked LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) stars.
Feng has proved her worth in the current season by winning her first victory at the LPGA Championship in June 2012, but now, pressure seems to be mounting by the day as her fans want her to add another victory this season.
The recent tournaments saw the Chinese star display a solid performance, but she could come close to a victory. Experts said that despite not being able to clinch a title, Feng does rank among favourite contenders in almost all the events — and her resilience
is what will pave her path to the second LPGA title of her pro career.
With the Kingsmill Championship 2012 slated to start from September 6-9, LPGA stars appear to be in high spirits, meaning the current month is going to see some nerve-jangling battles among big names. The interesting thing is that even those LPGA titans
who as of right now do not appear to be in good form have a glimmer of hope to do something impressive at the Ricoh Women’s British Open 2012.
Speaking to the media about her plans for the British Open — where she finished tied for 30th in the 2011 edition — Feng said that she is very happy to see her name in the roster.
“I am really looking forward to playing in the Ricoh Women’s British Open. My passport is actually at the British Embassy right now so I can get my visa so I am already thinking about it for sure!” the Chinese golfer said.
“Everyone will want to win the final major of the year and hopefully I will feel a little extra confidence to be announced on the tee as a major winner. Every year I’ve learnt a little more about playing links golf and my results have improved each time
so hopefully this will be my year”.
