Shanshan Feng moves up one spot in Women's World Golf Rankings
Chinese Shanshan Feng, who finished tied for fourth position at the Evian Masters 2012 along with two other contenders American Natalie Gulbis and South Korean Hyo-Joo Kim, has surged to fourth spot in the
Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Feng displayed an electrifying performance at the 2012 edition of Evian Masters, played at Evian-les-Bains, France, and thanks to her solid finish, she has been able to increase her position in world rankings.
Kerr has been trying to add another victory to her profile since she recorded her first major title and LPGA triumph at the LPGA Championship in June this year. Although the Chinese star was not able to win
the Evian Masters 2012, she has shown her rivals that she is not easy to subdue and has what it takes to rattle top-ranked players.
Analysts said that by increasing her position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, the rising star has been able to build up her confidence and now she looks all set for another huge challenge at the upcoming
CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012, scheduled to start next month.
Feng has emerged as one of the most talented players on the LPGA Tour in recent weeks. It is not just her major victory that she grabbed a few weeks back, her resilience and strength on the course make her
stand out among big names.
Her strong position is evident from the fact that she did not let her nerve overcome her game despite the roster at the Evian Masters 2012 was full of topflight contenders such as current world number one Yani
Tseng, Paula Creamer, Stacy Lewis, Inbee Park, Suzann Pettersen, Na Yeon Choi, Cristie Kerr and Karrie Webb of Australia.
The young golfer shared her thoughts with the media at the end of the Evian Masters 2012, saying she was able to further improve her confidence after playing against big names.
More importantly, a one-spot increase in her world ranking will prompt her to bring some much-needed changes to her game. Although she is able to give a tough time to experienced players, she still has to work
on plenty of things that can work in her favour.
