Shao Yiwen wins Women’s 800m freestyle crown: Day one – 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals
China’s Shao Yiwen impressed the arena with her performance on day one of the 2011 Chinese Long Course Nationals in Rizhao, China, on Thursday, September 22. The session of the competition conducted several races. Shao Yiwen secured gold medal in Women’s
800m freestyle, while s**+ Tengfei won the Men’s 50m freestyle crown. Zhejiang clinched the Men’s 800m freestyle relay title.  
In the Women’s 800m freestyle race, Shao Yiwen powered the wall in 8 minutes and 24.78 seconds to win gold medal. The victory moved Shao Yiwen to Sixth place in the world rankings of swimming. Meanwhile, Li Xuanxu secured silver medal on the podium by submitting
a scintillating time of 8 minutes and 25.18 seconds.
On the other hand, Bi Yirong took home bronze medal on the podium by posting a matchless time of 8 minutes and 34.09 seconds. After his inspiring swim, Yirong was delighted with his effort in the respective race.
The Men’s 50m freestyle title was taken over by China’s s**+ Tengfei with a winning mark of 22.66 seconds. In the corresponding swim, s**+ Yang secured silver medal on the podium by submitting a winning time of 22.79 seconds. Meanwhile, Hu Yue grabbed bronze
medal after he touched the finishing wall and ended his swim with a matchless mark of 22.92 seconds.
Zhejiang came out strongly and won the Men's 800m free relay crown in the respective meet by posting a triumphant time of 7 minutes and 21.25 seconds. In the corresponding race, Tianjing earned silver medal on the podium by submitting an impressive time
of 7 minutes and 24.74 seconds, whereas, Jiangsu settled for bronze with a winning mark of 7 minutes and 27.95 seconds.
In another meet, Tang Yi took home the Women's 100m free relay title with an impressive time of 54.65 seconds. Wang Shijia finished second on the podium in a time of 55.38 seconds, while Zheng Yanan touched the finishing wall to end her swim third in 55.49
seconds.
The arena applauded for the remarkable swims of all competitors, while the winners were awarded medals and accolades after the session’s completion.
