Shaolin monks?

Hey i've been researching shaolin monks and was woundering how people join? what age can they join? where to go to join? conditions of joining? do you have to be a certain race? etc. cheers

Up untill 6 or 7 years ago only Chinese could train as Shaolin Monks, but nowadays there are a couple of Shaolin temples in China which allow Westeners to join.  

The traditional shaolin temples only allow Chinese to train and they have to start from a young age. As young as about 7.  The temples which allow westeners to train, have raised the age to about mid twenties and even higher if u pay the right amount of money. Also, those non traditional temples have changed the way of training in many areas to accommodate the westerners. And that, in my opinion is not proper Shaolin monk training, so its not worth the time and effort.
