Shape of cams versus movement of followers?

can anyone ans this question for me just a little detail about the question

how will the shape of cams affect the movement of the follower

  1. Your cams determine what your follower does. If you want your follower to slowly move 5 mm over 90 degrees you will change the radius slowly to 5mm bigger in that time. If in the next 90degrees you want it to move back to 50mm quickly you'll have a sharp change in your cam and then level out the last bit. Your follower will then move quickly to that point and stay on that level for the rest of the 90 degrees. You get cam design software as well and in technical drawings they cover cam movement.
