  1. they sell a regrooving tool.  Saw one on ebay the otherday for about 5 bucks.  seems safer than a knife.

  2. Why would you need more spin?????I thought you said your greens were slow???? If they are slow your ball will stay on the green with most approch and you said are  a -3 ??????

And you want too use a what on your grooves???????? -3 marbles in the ole Knoggin maybe lol

  3. Please, do not, use a kitchen knife.

You can go to a local golfsmith and have the wedges re-grooved by them or you can by a special tool that is specifically made for re-grooving wedges.

  4. You won't be able to actually deepen grooves with a kitchen knife.  The steel in the wedge will be harder than the knife.  There are parameters for the shape and depth of grooves in order for the club to be on the USGA conforming list.  If you were able to deepen them enough the club could become illegal.

  5. This actually could be illegal if you do it in play...you are not allowed to alter a club.  If it happens during play ie Tiger breaking his 4 iron...you can replace it.  I use a tee, wire golf cleaner brush.  On that note, I don't play that much and my Sand Wedge takes a lot of abuse especially since I changed to Spin Milled Titlest.  I have to brush them after every shot (I have a Spin Milled Lob wedge, too)  The range master hates what I do to his driving range balls.  But I wore out the gooves on my last sand and lob wedge.  Think of replacing them with a new model...especially if sqaure gooves go illegal.

  6. please dont use a knife . you can by a regroving tool for around 15 dollars . the knife would slip . the metal of the knife would not cut new grooves , just slip , and cut groves in your hand . this is not from a golfers point of view , but from a long time chef , it is very cangerous , plus the knife would be destroyed , and stiching a fortune . try a large golf outlet for the tool it is diamond tipped . always push tool away from your body , . if you are worried about dirty groves . find dental pick , it is made of surgical steel will not slip and scratch face . a few drops gun oil , wd40 on face of wege the pick will remove everything . great point on keeping grooves clean , often overlooked have good season .
