The Bayern Munich midfielder is aiming to win titles with his new club and is eager to start the new season impressively.
New signing, Xherdan Shaqiri played his first game for Bayern Munich in a friendly against third division side SpVgg Unterhaching on Tuesday, July 10. The Bavarian giants won the game at Generali Sportpark Unterhaching courtesy
a second-half strike from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dante-c10236 and Mitchell Weiser who had signed for the Reds earlier this summer also took part in the pre-season friendly.
Shaqiri insisted that he has joined the club to win trophies and is confident that a club with the stature of Bayern Munich will play a vital role in his development. The winger stressed that he has had a great stint with his former
side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079, where he achieved success and wants to continue to do the same at his new club.
The Swiss international admitted that the Bundesliga is a much stronger league than the Swiss Super League which means that he will have to work hard to prove his worth. The player is confident of success in the next season after
a disappointing campaign last term and wants to play a major role for Bayern in the upcoming campaign.
“I've come from a club which won a lot of titles and obviously I want to continue that with my new club. The Bundesliga is a stronger league and I'm determined to continue my development, that's why I came to FC Bayern. I think
we're on the right track and we've laid the foundations for a good start to the season,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the 20-year old admitted that there is still some work to be done before the next season starts and feels that the game against Unterhaching has certainly helped.
“We've only been training a week, so there were some heavy legs out there. Unterhaching start their season next week and they were obviously highly motivated to play us,” he concluded.
