Shaquille O' Neal sues his former IT employee for leaking his private emails – NBA Update
Every NBA follower would remember the saga when stories seeped about email coherences entailing Shaquille O Neal, in which he said something controversial to a model and how he tried to get set up with up US pop sensation Rihanna.
These emails were made public by his own former IT employee, Shawn Darling, who in past has given a major headaches to ex-NBAer and also sued him for million bucks after things got obnoxious between both.
It appears Shaq has planned to avenge all of it as just yesterday, news broke out that he has filed a lawsuit against Darling for invading his privacy and damaging his reputation by selling those mails out to people. A fragment
of the report he filed reads like this.
“The lawsuit was filed against Shawn Darling in Miami-Dade Circuit Court. It seeks an injunction barring Darling from providing O’Neal’s emails to anyone, unspecified damages and the return of all O’Neal’s private electronic messages."
Such move was always on the cards. However what held Neal earlier was that those mails were too personal and embarrassing and he thought seeking legal action might just backfire. It is too early to conclude what Neal will gain
from this lawsuit move but one thing is for sure, justice will be served. Darling has been accused of such abhorrent acts in past too so it will be interesting to see what happens next.
Shaq would be hoping this all to get resolved quickly because when the lockout ends and the regular season starts, he will be on TV doing an analyst job and with such controversy surrounding him, it will definitely be a mighty
distraction.
Shaquille claimed the mails if they get public would hurt his reputation. This is ironic as Shaquille in his new autobiography has dished massive dirt on players like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Won’t that hurt their reputation?
Neal should definitely think about it however it’s a completely different matter.
Without an ambiguity, Shaq is one of the finest players to have ever adorned the NBA court. With his outstanding skills on court, he has won million of hearts in his nineteen years prolific career so it doesn’t look like few such
mails will hurt his reputation in fact there is a possibility they might augment it further.
There are definitely some hideous facts about Neal in those mails and probably that is what he does not want anyone to know but he has a point. None of us are saints and we all have our secrets and we would feel the same way if
they leak out. Let us just hope those mails don’t leak out further so Shaq’s reputation stays intact.
