Maria Sharapova had a match point at 5-3 and a 5-2 lead in the tiebreak and still lost to Safina, but honestly i thought she played really well and was sliding on the court in a great way but lost it all in a matter of minutes how can that happen????

Do you think she gave a good performance??

I DO

but how did she lose?

  1. Well she played well for a set and a half, but she really let the match slip through her fingers.  All credit to Safina though, because Maria didn't necessarily choke.  Safina hit a backhand winner on match point down in the second set, and Maria just started making too many errors when she had the lead in the tie-breaker.  In the third set, Safina was swinging away with abandon, and Maria kept getting more frustrated and discouraged by her own play, and I'm sure the crowd being so rudely against her didn't help matters.  It was a very exciting match though, too bad Maria couldn't manage to win it.

  2. Sharapova is a pain.

    So up herself.

She didn't think for a moment that Safina had the huevos to beat her, so she was sloppy.

Also now the cameras are on her Dad so often they can't play their cheating game - although I noticed twice he put two fingers up to the left side of his nose and I am sure that was a signal.

Sharapova doesn't have the attitude of a champion.

She's petty and grim faced, and those Cruella de Ville looks are so 'contrived' are we all suppose to quake in our shoes because she looks soooo"bad".

Then we have the blue movie orgasmic gasp after she hits the ball.

She could always make a spoof movie on tennis, with that other Diva Djokovic called

    "s*x, racket and Balls".

I'm tired of her already and she has only been#1 for half an hour.

  3. Maria played pretty well. She was serving better than her previous matches, she showed gusty performance even doing a drop shot (which we all know she's still working on it) when Dinara was facing a set point in the 1st set. She did come up with couple of nice drop shots and at some instances, she hit unbelievable groundstrokes. But somehow the hot-headed Safina was able to break back in the 2nd set and Maria can hardly close it out, what's more, the disrespectful crowd was booing at her during her match points - that's when Maria started to lose her coolness and became frustrated. She saved one match point though, when she made a drop shot, but Safina still had two but then Maria hit a forehand wide - and it's all over for her. Maria then left the court hastily while the crowd was booing at her. ='(

Actually, i heard one commentator said that this match is the best one so far from the women's tennis at this year's RG.

Hope she'll do better at Wimby... Go Masha!!! A good crowd will be waiting for you there!

  4. i think she played good but got mentally tired and also physically.

  5. Her winnings since the first round were all just by luck.

  6. Well, Safina did beat a worthy adversary around the same time she beat Maria.  I think Safina is just stepping up.

  7. dinara played better, just as simple as that.-

  8. She had her chances and failed to capitalize. She can only blame herself for this. I believe this was before the crowd started to act up.

  9. well said anna! Safina played better!! why take the credit from her like sharapova did?

  10. Bad Luck!!

  11. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Now there's not hot chick to look at running around the court
