Sharapova vs. Kudryavtseva spoiler...?

Sharapova lost??? Why is she so inconsistent? I once thought she could be as dominant as Federer...

Yes she sure did lose, and in an awful way too. Not taking anything away from her rising opponent, for she has given fits to other top players before. However many people say, think,  Maria is the "best" out there and most consistent and number one. I just laugh at that. While I dont care for her much, for to me she is highly over rated in all categories, I can at same time say she is quite talented, but in no way the best or number one ( for which the 2 short times she has been number one for a total of 5 weeks), she has yet to perform as a top player and since her extra two inches she had grown, has since struggled with movement. Her opponents are familair with her awkwardness, and her not liking to hit from the baseline from the waist to shoulder length. Her opponent today hit deep most of the time and kept Maria all twisted and most uncomfortable. Kudos to her, and bye bye Maria.

Sharapova is far overrated there is no way you can speak about Sharapova and Federer in the same sentence.  She can not and will never come close to Federer achievement.  They have been promoting her as the next great thing but it is just a con to get people to believe she is any good.  She will never be as dominant , she is on her way down.

I agree with Sheri....overrated indeed...she has skill but no where near to be called the female Federer. She made some good wins this year, but thats not enough these days.

Well it looks like she has become too American ized. The #22 Russian woman beats the #3 in the World that says loads about how good the Russian women are. They will be certainly dominating ladies tennis for years to come. Alla Kudryavtseva played great. Well grass is an acquired taste and maybe Alla likes it better. Hopefully playing and living in Florida she can retain her Russian fundamentals and keep improving and not get too comfortable. Good win for the young Russian rising star.

she spends half her energy of the match grunting. Anyone would get tired doing that and a good opponent would recognize and take advantage of it
