  1. One time i went to a very busy restaurant and after my party had finished are dinner we waited at least an our for our check.  It turned out that our waiter had quit!  We ended up getting our dinner free so guess i would go back because its not like that waiter is there anymore.

  2. Probably a restaurant in Brazil 35 years ago.  When the plate came out to us, there was a cooked fly and cockroach along with my steak.

Yes, we went back because it was the best restaurant in town.

Here in the U.S. I would have to say it was when I cut my finger with the steak knife and had to spend 15-20 minutes washing the wound, stopping the bleeding and getting a bandage around it.  The waitress took it quite well.  My wife and I finished our meal after my medical delay.

  3. It was at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, TX.  It is a tourist trap, and it features the 72-oz. steak that you can get free if you can eat it (plus all the sides) in one hour or less.

After placing our order, we waited 1 hour 10 minutes for the food.  (Our party had 8 people, but the Big Texan serves mostly large groups.  It is not an "intimate dining" establishment!)  I ordered an 8-oz. sirlion steak, the same steak as the lady sitting next to me ordered.  Hers was thick, juicy, and it looked good; mine was thin, dry, and burnt beyond recognition (I ordered it medium-well).  It was actually black and crisp on one side!  I cut into it, but didn't eat any.

I immediately told my waitress and she said she would send a manager over.  After waiting for a manager for a few minutes, she gave up on him and took the steak back to the kitchen.  I did receive a new steak quickly, and it was OK.  The manager finally showed up as I was eating the new steak.  He didn't apologize, offer a free dessert, offer a coupon -- nothing.  He simply said, "Is that one treating you better?"

I will not go back.  It used to be good.  They have gone downhill.

I must stress that the waitress was good.  It bothers me when people take out their anger on the waitperson.  I blame the manager for running a restaurant where a cook's mistake is allowed to be served.  I was also disappointed by the manager's apparent lack of concern for me or my future business.

  4. A few months ago when I went to a Chinese restaurant buffet, I had part of a chicken foot in my General Tso's chicken.  As an owner of four parakeets and having to clip their toe nails, I know a bird toe nail when I see one.

  5. This is an easy one for me.

I live outside of Dallas, TX.

Several years ago, my family and I were down in the southern part of the state...the closest city to us was San Antonio.

It was in a small town. We were visiting some relatives who live around that area.

Anyway, one night, we came to this restaurant. The place was just about deserted. There were 4 of us...my dad, my mom, my brother and I.

My dad ordered a cutlet of some kind, my mom ordered some meat dish (I think) and my brother and I ordered Mexican food.

Big mistake in us going to that place. It's called Stagecoach restaurant. The food was totally horrible. I don't know if it is still there or not. I'd be very surprised, if it is. Anyway, my dad's food didn't have much meat in it. My mom's food was ok, I think. The food that my brother and I ordered looked pretty good. .....but tasted awful.

We didn't complain to anyone about it, because we're hardly out that way, anyway.

We never went back there, again.

  6. Some old man two tables over got up to go to the bathroom and had p**p dropping out his drawers.  Fell in his loose shoes and he went to the bathroom came back and told the waitress he would be back to finish his coffee not to clear his table.  It smelled so bad we about died.  Later I took my daughter to the ladies room and there was p**p smeared all over the floor, walls, seats and sinks.  There was p**p all the way down the hallway right to the door.  We never went back but we laugh about it now and then although it wasn't so funny when we were trying to eat.

  7. A little kid in the next booth threw up in my hair.

  8. My family and I were at Perkins sitting for 40 minutes and no one ever came by to even ask what we wanted to drink. My dad was embarrassingly angry as we walked out.
