  1. Sharebuilder does put many (too many) restrictions on their clients.

Sharebuilders is not a true full service broker/dealer, they offer their customer a very limited product and charge next to nothing for it.   YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

If you, or anyone is serious about investing/trading, they should open an account at a regular broker/dealer, Sharebuilders is not the way to go

  2. I'm not sure what to tell you, because out of curiosity I just logged into my Sharebuilder account to check this out. It let me view the charts for MNKD, and there was a little "TRADE" button there in the corner, so I clicked it, and it told me the current price of the stock and asked me did I want to buy some shares ... anyway, I got all the way through to the page where you actually have to click to confirm your order, at which point I stopped ... but nowhere along the way did I see any message that said it was unavailable ...

So whatever the problem is, it's not affecting everyone who has a Sharebuilder account. I'd try e-mailing or calling them to see if they can explain why you're having this problem when obviously not everyone else is.
