Shared Property romped past a full field of 13 in the Arlington-Washington Futurity at Arlington Park to go to 2 up

The Grade 3 Arlington-Washington Futurity reeled in a massive field of 13 at Arlington Park on 10 September, 2011, and saw the 2-year-old gelding, Shared Property, run a big race in the $100,000 event.
Trained by Tom Amoss for owner Jerry Namy, Shared Property is now 2 of 2 in as many starts, breaking his maiden on 30 July, 2011 over a distance of six furlongs at Ellis Park dirt course.
The son of Scat Daddy, Shared Property, was expected to do well by his trainer Tom Amos and jockey Leandro Goncalves, who were confident that over a distance of mile the gelding will turn in something special.
Out of Yoursmineours by Belong to Me, Shared Property didn’t make his trainer and jockey look bad for putting in so much confidence in the inexperienced juvenile, as their confidence was rewarded by a remarkable late surge from him.
The Manny Perez trained Ville, performed the pace setting duties in the full field of 13, as he took the lot with him through some quick splits of 22.88 seconds on the first quarter mile and then 46.36 seconds for the half mile mark.
In the early stages of the race Twelve Hundred, Hogy and Fairy Cat ran close to the leader, and there wasn’t much to differentiate among the front running lot either.
The 2 to 1 favourite Take Charge Indy, under jockey James Graham was off the pace and stalking, however, James Graham had seen enough of the race and under a strong drive from him, Take Charge Indy made a strong run on the turn.
Coming on strong and going four wide on the turn, the son of A. P. Indy, took over entering the stretch. Reaching the sixteenth Pole, Take Charge Indy was still going strong, but to his disadvantage, the 2-year-old started ducking in towards the rail.
This was the lucky break, or the opening Shared Property was looking for, and the dark bay/brown gelding outran his rival in the deep stretch, and covered the 1 mile on Poly Track in 1 minute and 37.93 seconds.
