Sharia laws and women who are raped, or otherwise have s*x outside of marriage.?

I'm looking for information on how nations with strict Sharia laws are dealing with women who've had s*x outside of marriage. Any data is good (a article about a single woman facing stoning for rape or something), but ideally statistic oriented data would be more ideal.

  1. You  might start with the extensive written information available online and off about the Zina Laws (Hudood Ordinances) in Pakistan.

While not the most extreme, they are very well documented and also very efficiently carried out with a lot of media attention as has happened in places such as Somalia.

This could be because the 'sentences' lack the headline catching style of being stoned to death.

Being incarcerated for being inconvenient, demanding, unlucky ~ or just female ~ just doesn't have the same headline attention grabbing ring to it.

Due to international human rights pressure, some modifications in the laws have been achieved, but there is a long way to go.

Some of the very many available links below.

    Best wishes :-)
