Question:

Shark Finning for Fun and Profit?

Does everyone know that Yahoo have just gone into the shark finning business? That's slicing off a shark's fin and throwing it back in the water to bleed to death: just so heartless (or culpably ignorant) Japanese consumers can eat shark fin soup (when they aren't eating protected whales equally cruelly slaughtered in Australia's Antarctic Sanctuary). I guess there's nothing so terrible from a carnivorous point of view with shark fin soup, provided the shark is killed quickly and the rest of it is also used (as was surely the case traditionally). But mutilating an animal and letting it die of its wounds? That's something else again! Seems like one of the things not on Yahoo's list of things they don't like is profitting from cruelty to animals; is that why there's no animal welfare category in the topics list? Yahoo chooses to profit from cruelty to animals, wasteful harvesting, marine extinctions and destruction of our oceans. Yahoo cruelty, stupidity and greed - don't buy it!

  1. Did you know that Preparation H contains shark liver oil?

It's all very sad.  Sharks are lovely creatures that should be protected.

  2. That is really sad!

I find it gross and repulsive that people find it O.K. to do horrible things like that.

There should be more done to stop this kind of stuff.

Sharks are wonderful creatures and they hardly do anything to harm us (believe it or not).

Thanks for posting this. I hope it helps to make people more aware of this situation.
