  1. They are in a good position. Eventhough it is not performing like it should, they have a large pool of talent. They will probably wait and see, but there is a very good chance of trading sometime before the deadline, if the chemistry seems off.

If they can put together a good package for someone like cheechoo, michalek . . . any of them. I think nobody but Thornton is safe if they get a good offer.

Don't forget this is a team that closed the season something like 17-2-2. They are a powerful team. It is a big puzzle why they can't perform in the playoffs, but on paper they have a killer team, so they really aren't in a position where they need to do anything more. I think they would benefit by an even trade for some players just to change up chemistry, but as far as talent they dont need it.

  2. ya they probably might do more stuff

    GO SHARKS!!!

  3. So far, it looks solid.  They have replaced Campbell nicely by aquiring proven defensemen Blake and most importantly Boyle.  I was estatic when i checked 20 mins ago that Boyle was joining the Sharks.  Also extremely glad we resigned Jeremy Roenick, i was hoping so much that he would put off retirement again.  All the way this year baby.  Thorton, Cheechoo, Marleau, Michalek....blake, boyle, nabokov!

  4. Sharks suck

  5. The Sharks have some work to do, but yes - it's a 'wait and see' period.

They'll come in hard and strong mid-season, they usually do.

    GO SHARKS!!

  6. OK! Here's what I got for you:

Over the past 24 hours, heres the grades I give to the Sharks

    On offense: B-

    Defense (actual defense): A-

    Special Teams: A

    Leadership: A

    Gritty/Hard Nosed players: A

    Experience: A

    Players that know playoffs: A++

Blake: Nice pickup, but costs too much. He is a proven leader. He is great at puck possession, breakout plays, and special teams. He has one he11 of a slapshot fo'sho'. He brings talent, experience, and physicality to the club.

Lukowich: You did your homework Wilson. He is a tremendous hard nose player that can really shove Dallas and Anaheim in their faces. He has experience and physicality. I just hope he is not one of those players with his fingers up his nose on big plays. But I don't think he is.

Boyle: He is the powerplay quarterback. He and Ehrhoff will be the leaders for the PP. Boyle can show his physicality at times, he has a nice slapshot, he is quick on his feet, and he's got the experience and a cup ring.

    The losers, Carle, Rivet, Wishart

Carle: the question is will he get his groove on? He is too unpredictable and he had the sophmore curse. I don't think he was a "great" defensemen, but he is good on scoring.

Rivet: Oh Rivet! What a great player. He is a physical presence, he can move the puck great, start up the offense, score, throw some big hits, fight. He was great. I wish him the best of luck.

When I heard that Wilson traded a prospect I said to myself, oh please not Wishart! He is going to be a great defensemen who could win the Norris in the next decade...I'm not kidding this kid is going to be great.

So overall grade I'm going to give Wilson: B+

It's good we got some good draft picks today, I was starting to get nervous.

  7. I heard they were getting Pavel Kubina from my favourite team the maple leafs? Sharks are my 2nd favourite team

  8. Blake is a proven defensemen but he's def on the downslide of his career, and 1 year 5 mill??? not sure its worth that. We also lost rivet which was a strong part of our rotation. We did add boyle which is the best move we've made so far. I understand why we signed blake, obviously the urgency to win now...of course theres nothing wrong with that. at least we have boyle for the next few years. I dont think were done making moves because the fact we didnt get a player in return for rivet, jus draft picks.

Wasnt to surprised to see campbell go, figured early on he was only here til the end of the season, but really glad they addressed their defensive problem already
