  1. sometimes...especially if you have blond hair. do not let them go out on their own except in your hotel and make sure you stay with them when you are in town and stuff. the locals are very friendly though. have a great holiday...its going to be really hot there in july.

  2. maybe sometimes this happened not here only but worldwide.. men can be really annoying sometimes,

men there are used to social with foreigners all the time, and they will not treat them as an aliens or so!

but dont worry, as long as they are not really alone late at night in associated places, they are fine..

Sharm el Sheikh is totally safe for anyone.. you will have much fun, the least thing in mind will be this issue, you will experience this yourself.

  3. YOU CANT WEAR SHORTS IN EGYPT

  4. First i will say Egypt is very safe so don't worry about safety.  Sharm is very touristy and the Egyptians in Sharm are just working there Egyptians don't live there for any other reasons.  Sharm like some above has already said that it is just for tourists and this is very true Sharm is like 1 big resort really.

You will have such a good time Sharm is very beautiful if you like relaxing then there are some really nice beaches.  If you like to do things then there are many things to do boat trips to Ras Mohamed or Tiran where you can snorkel have lunch on the boat.  Quad biking into the Sinai Peninsula and have Bedouin tea. Glass bottom boats.  Naama bay has loads of really good restaurants including Hard rock cafe, little coffee shops and buying souvenirs.

Now about the concerns you have.  Don't worry the Egyptians are very friendly and just want you to enjoy your holiday.  They are very welcoming and they will invite you into their shop they will offer you a drink this is normal free of charge this is part of their hospitality they will talk to you about your holiday etc and will help you book any excursions by recommending a company if you say you want to do any excursions.  If you don't want to go into the shop just say no thank you just be polite.

I have never heard of any harassment in Egypt and i have never seen any in Sharm.  Your daughters are young they will treat them with respect as a child and a teenager.  The young girls your friend may be talking about may be over the age of 18 wearing very small skirts and revealing clothing wanting the attention of the locals.  I am sure your daughters will not be like this at all just enjoying the family holiday.  They may however say they are beautiful or look like their mum but these are inocent remarks.

Have a good holiday and don't worry about this issue to much see what the Egyptians are like for your self and i am sure you will not be worried any more.  Just be polite and they will be polite and enjoy your time there.

  5. Sharm , unlike any other place in Egypt , is "VERY" touristic area and ,actually , you will not see locals there at the area you are supposed to move through ...

People there are engaged to the tourism business in a way or another , sellers , working in hotels , diving instructors and all can never do such a thing

The whole area consists of 5 stars hotels and i doubt someone can do this

Sorry , but maybe your friend , unintentionally , sent a misleading sign.... but as far as you are straight and direct you won't face any problems over there

    Wish you a nice stay

  6. i have lived in Sharm Elseikh for 3 years, it is for tourists and people don't harass girls unless girls show otherwise, don't worry about them but let them be not so friendly with men and have a nice time there.

  7. dont let them go anywhere alone or to wear too mini skirt

  8. no,, we've got rules n i think i haven't heared about something like this happening in egypt ,, so so so few times

n in sharm el sheikh speacialy i've never heared about it

    come n don't worry ..

    we respect our guests

i hope to you to enjoy your time :]
