Sharp Aquos Suddenly no sound Except with DVD?

All of a sudden, I can get no sound at all from this TV (about 1 month old). I tried playing a DVD, and the sound is fine, but as soon as the DVD player is turned off, it's back to silence. I double-checked all of the connections. What is wrong??

I am not sure but if you get sound off the DVD then your speakers are fine.  It may be a cable or some sort of mute button you hit and don't know about.  I would get online and send  the question to sharp customer service.  I bet there is a simple explanation and fix.

You need to check all the menu items for "Second Audio Program" or something like that, and click it back to "Normal" or something like that.  Most TV channels do not use the alternate audio feature, so if it is selected, you get no sound.

Maybe there is a button on the remote called "SAP"?  Press it.
