I got a refurbished sharp LC-32GP1U. After using one day with out any problems, this TV came out many retrace lines. The retrace lines or points always came out after the TV was turned on for 10 minites. Before that this TV works with no problem. What's the problem? Is this problem more likey with screen or motherboard? What can I do? Many thanks!

  1. I think you should replace the TV. A refurbished TV is trouble, you will keep trying to fix it and there will still be a problem.  Return it as soon as possible, even though it is a Sharp.  You can go back and try to get it fixed but this looks like a motherboard problem and its going to be costly as much as you got it. Hope that helps.

  2. Go to the HI Voltage transformer and adjust the SCREEN control down with a Blank -No Video picture off of video 1 or 2 or 3.....turn it down until the lines disappear and the blank video is BLACK....

The screen control is the BOTTOM one...

The Hi Voltage Tranformer is the one with the long Giant Red Wire connected to the TOP of the Picture tube.....

And they are NOT FOUND in DLPs LCDs or Plasma TV sets....only CRT TV sets.

Now if it doesn't go black like it should, you may have a leaky Capacitor in the 200 V power supply....it's worth getting it fixed under manufacturer's warranty, so you'll need your purchase reciept that you should have KEPT....Make a copy and call the manufacturer's service number in the instruction manual....that you should have KEPT too.
