Sharp pain in my butt, can hardly walk?

i have this pain in my left butt cheek and its a sharp pain and it hurts to walk, heat helps it but if i move it the wrong way it hurts a lot all over again. putting pressure on my left foot hurts it a lot too. i was on a lot of pain killers and anti inflammatorys but they didnt help at all. every day it gets worse and ive had it for about 2 weeks now. one minute it will seem to be getting better and ill be able to walk normally and while im walking ill feel it and then right there ill almost collapse and ill limp and wont be able to walk unless im holding on to something. i really want this to get better and fast, im going to the doctor tomorrow but hat do you think this is. I tried stretching out my muscles but that didnt do anything either, walking and sleeping kills it along with the slightest wrong movement, it will be feeling okay 1 second but if i move it wrong it will kill forever. everything points to sciatica, but i am only having pain in my butt (and sometimes hip when it really hurts) but thats all, i dont get any tingling feeling or a shooting pain down my leg which makes me think its not sciatica. if anyone knows what this is or how to treat it please help. school starts in 3 days and i dont want to be limping in the halls. thanks

  1. Sounds like a pinched sciatic nerve. Its near the tail bone, and can cause sharp shooting pains in the buttocks and down one, or both legs. Google search more info on "sciatic nerve" or call your Dr.

  2. I know somebody who has the exact same problem. These are the few stuff that we tried that worked for her.

    1. Walk. Wake up every morning and walk about a mile or so. Usually the pain is tolerable or non-existing in the morning after waking up.

    2. Try using a different a chair in your office. Your chair might be the culprit.

    3. Drink milk and juice.

    4. At the office don't sit too long. Get up once in a while. Maybe get a glass of water or something.

  3. I have the same feeling. Left butt cheek and hip area.  Mine is due to a Strained/sprained lumbar muscle. I am still dealing with this all most a year later, depending on how sever it is. Mine went down my left and into my foot. It even hurt if people barely brushed up against me are my foot.  This is what it sounds like to me. Ice/ heat and bed rest till the doctors says you can start stretches ect.
