I've been having soccer practices every day for the past 2 weeks

every day we've been running 7 laps, on average i would say

starting about friday, i've had horrrrrrible pains in my left shin

and now last night my leg felt numb entirely for a bit

any ideas as to what this might be? because it hurts really bad and advil and ice aren't seeming to help >_<

  1. that would be shin splints. i know how you feel, they are often called the worst injury in sports.

shin splints are the imflammation  of the periosteum(outer layer of your bone). You often cant see the swelling except in extreme cases.

You have kinda been doing the right thing. Keep icing, because that helps swelling go down. Instead of advil, take ibuprofin, which also helps swelling.  Take the ibuprofin a few times every day. Ice your shin 2-4 times a day, and keep it on until the skin starts turning red. It will take a while for it to heal.
