no its not good..but i have a trick i use.i put nailpolish on my nails first and then i get colored sharpies and put it ON TOP of the nailpolish...for example, wear hot pink nail polish under and put on dots of black nailpolish and silver nailpolish..and it comes off WITH the nailpolish...so it works

If your asking if it's bad for your health I would say no.  It says non-toxic on the pen,

If your asking if it's bad for your image/appearance I would say yes.  It looks like c**p or something elementary school kids do.

its not bad it just looks pretty tacky . it doesnt stain your nails perminitly eitherits just a little harder to get offf

yes don't use them seriously they ruin your nails and they don't last and its hard to get it off your nails the ball sharpie turn kinda greenish its gross:)

They are considered non-toxic for "normal uses," meaning writing on posters, soccer balls, and such. However, they are not meant for use on skin or fingernails.It might take over an ounce of ink from a Sharpie to cause a lethal reaction, and if a Sharpie is used on the skin it generally won't cause an immediate or obvious health effect. so no it is not good.

well when i was in 6th grade id sit in class and color it with a sharpee all day.black one too!but one day my teacher cought me and told me that if i kept doing that it will sink through my fingernails and into my skin and under to my vains and i could die of ink poisening so i think its best you stop =).that was like 2 years ago too! lol..

what you have to do is to put 1 or 2 base coats on first, so it won't stain your nails. and after you color it on with sharpie, put on a clear coat. and it'll look like real nail polish.

Yes.. it will fade quickly leaving your nails purplish like you have a heart problem with black cuticles.  It also contains chemicals that will dry your nails.  You can't get it off once you get it on.. and besides it will look absolutely terrible and people will laugh at you.

Does it work as well? Nope.  It can look streaky.  And it rubs off.  And it stains your nails and can stain your cuticle.  

But.

If it's in a pinch, and you need to cover a chip in your nail polish...it's fast and easy.

Yeah... It'll ruin your nails... not only by staining them, but people tend to forget that there is ALCOHOL in them... like nail polish remover. The alcohol will suck up all the natural oils and moisturizers you produce to keep that healthy sheen to your nails

That's why they always tell you to moisturize after you take off nail polish, and also why many polishes come with moisturizers and such...

IF you are going to go a la sharpie on your nails.... treat it like polish: do a base coat to PROTECT your nails, then a TOP COAT to protect the colour you put on

If you're that desperate to draw on your nails, just splurge and buy nail art pens... y'know, the pens they use in salons for detailing?! my friend got a set of 65 from Korea on eBay for about $15... she's learning how to use them, and she loves them...

I like to use them for detailing my art pieces!
