  1. Any answer to your question depends of several factors:

    1) The current color of the walls.

    2) The current finish of the walls -- is it paint, or something else.

    3) The current type of paint, if paint is the current finish.

    4) The type of paint you plan to use to paint the walls.  (You'll have to make sure it is compatible to the current finish.)

    5) The color you plan on painting the walls, when you do so.

    6) The color, and the amount ie: "Density" of sharpie drawing you plan to make.

    7) How many coats you are going to use to cover the walls.

The lighter the sharpie color, the thinner the lines, the less art (ie: ink) there is... the better painting over will work.  Also, the darker the color you plan to use to paint over with, the better the quality of the paint, and the more coats you plan to use... the better painting over will work.

I would go visit a local paint store....  A professional paint store, not the paint department of a department store, and put the question to them.  Explain what you want to do, and get a pro's advice, BEFORE you do it!

  2. Get Primer Paint. That covers EVERYTHING almost! I've used it to paint walls white after they have been darker colors. Goes on thick so you don't have to put on tons of coats. HAVE FUN WRITING!!!! :)

  3. You may have to use a very heavily covering undercoat or primer to cover your doodles if you use dark colored sharpies.  I would actually test an area first. . .. especially if you could be in deep doo-doo if you damage the walls (apartment, parent's house, etc.)

  4. yeah paint will cover it just do 3 coats=] have fun

  5. My friends and i drew all over my walls in sharpie before i painted them. It was fun!

I painted white over them only took two coats and it covered up fine but you probably want a good quality paint.
