Former Australian all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SE-Marsh-c2470 but asserted that determination will hold him good stead, the same way he managed to curb his alcohol problem.
Moody was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362’s mentor as he geared up to take the rigors of Test cricket. However, despite proving to be a prodigious talent at a young age, he never took the game seriously and thought that the baggy green cap would eventually come his way.
After scoring 119 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 at the age of 19, his love with alcohol put him well behind the pecking order but after consultation and advice from Moody, his determination helped him to curb his drinking problem.
He turned up with considerable amount of runs for his domestic side, Western Australia and consequently made his ODI debut in 2008. However, injuries again hampered his chance to stake a permanent claim in the side but with rigorous practice, he made an emphatic Test debut this year against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, scoring a ton in the first Test of the tour.
Moody, who coached him at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865, feels that injuries have been the main drawback for him in recent times.
"I don't think the issue is him playing consistent cricket; it's about the consistency of him staying on the park," http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Moody-c77690 told 'The Sydney Morning Herald'."That's his greatest challenge. It's a tricky one for Shaun because he's clearly fit and as much an athlete as any other member in that squad, but he's got an issue with his lower back.”
After a fine debut series, the 28-year-old then travelled to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. With an important series against the Indian commencing, he recovered in style and proved his fitness by putting on a towering match-winning knock for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.
The former Aussie all-rounder is adamant the player will do whatever it takes to end his injury woes.
"Now he would move heaven and earth to do what he needs to do to get back out onto the park," Moody added.
