Shaun Murphy becomes patron of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity – Snooker News
Snooker governing body, World Snooker and many players have always been in the fore front of charity activities and have been donating and representing many charity organisations. Due to these activities, many people and children are living happy lives.
Former World Snooker Champion, England’s Shaun Murphy has also been a front runner in charity activities.
Shaun Murphy has is going to become the patron of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) Charity. The Magician is living near the city and is aiming to get involved in the fund raising activities. Murphy visited the hospital and talked to many patients
and children, their parents and staff. Murphy’s responsibilities will be to supervise the charity and fund raising efforts.
While speaking to the media, Murphy said, “I am very honoured to be a patron for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity. I recently visited the hospital and, although, of course, there are some very poorly children such a lot of thought and hard work
goes in that there is a very positive atmosphere around the place.”
The former Champ added, “What's really clear is that the children there receive the very best of care in every sense. Royal Manchester Children's Hospital really is making a difference. I live on the outskirts of Manchester and couldn't think of a better
local charity to support than RMCH Charity.”
The children and patients were very happy to see the potter and had a great time with him. The hospital staff was also happy to see the children feeling comfortable with him. Maurice Watkins, chairman of RMCH Charity, stated that they are delighted that
Shaun has pledged his support and time for them as they are sure he will be a fantastic.
He added that working with Murphy will be quite excited as they continue to fundraise and ensure that the patients receive the very best treatment in the very best facilities.
Meanwhile, the Englishman is also ready to take on the challengers at the Crucible Theatre when he plays his first match of the 2012 World Snooker Championship. Murphy is all set because his form is on the rise and he believes that he will make an appearance
at the venue.
