Shaun White Home Collection available in Target Stores
Shaun White’s latest creative endeavour, the Shaun White Home Collection, hit Target stores on Monday, December 26.
The collection, co-designed by his brother Jesse White, will remain in stores for a limited time only and is available in stores as well as online through June 2012.
The premiere collection of Shaun’s home line features a diverse set of items to fully decorate a kid’s room. It includes items such as bedding, lamps, wall decals, curtains, storage bins,
a skateboard rack and piggy banks among other things.
“Introducing a home collection is the latest chapter in Target’s decade-long relationship with Shaun,” said the Target Lifestyle Marketing Manager Troy Michels. “Designing products for
Target gives Shaun a way to share his unique point of view, and the new home line is no exception.”
In an exclusive interview with The New York Times, the 25-year-old Shaun discussed the importance of allowing kids stylize their own bedroom.
“I thought it was cool to do this, because I remember what it was like having my space, doing whatever I wanted, and it meant so much to me,” said Shaun. “As a kid, you're not allowed
to do much -- you got to dress and look cool and feel cool, and your room reflects the same thing. You spend a lot of time there when you're younger.”
Jesse, who has been serving as the Creative Director for his brother’s creative endeavours for quite some time now, revealed that the home line collection is deeply inspired by their own
experience as kids. When they were young, they had very limited options to choose from, such as trains and baseball. However, the new collection will give kids a variety of items to choose from, allowing them to customise their bedroom to their liking.
Jesse further added that they have tried hard to make the designs of the new collection original while presenting their own point of view. He hoped that the collection would appeal to
all those who are inspired by what the two-time Olympic Gold Medallist, Shaun, does.
The online guests of Target will have access to additional exclusive styles, which include window curtains and quilts featuring Shaun’s signature blue monster.
Keeping the affordability in mind, Target has kept the price of the Shaun White Home Collection within the $9.99 to $89.99 range.
