Shaun White enters into partnership with Vail Resorts
In a press release on Tuesday, Vail Resorts announced that the celebrated dual action sports athlete from America, Shaun White has entered into a multiyear partnership agreement with the company.
According to the freshly signed deal between the renowned action sports athlete and Vail Resorts, the 24-year-old San Diego-based White will represent all six resorts of the company, which include four resorts in Colorado and two in California. He will also
be calling California’s Northstar-at-Tahoe his home mountain. Not only will he be using the mountain as his training ground for the next few years, he will also design a 22-foot halfpipe at the north end of Lake Tahoe.
In the press release following the recent deal, White said, “This feels like a homecoming because I have spent so much time riding at most of Vail Resorts' mountains. With Northstar as my home mountain, I now have the ideal place to train and continue to
grow as an athlete and I am looking forward to all the possibilities this partnership brings.”
Vail Resorts will be donating $5 for each Epic Season Pass sold to White’s charity of choice, St. Jude Children Research Hospital, to promote this new partnership.
Commenting on the freshly inked deal, the chairman and CEO of Vail Resorts, Rob Katz, said that the inclusion of White will definitely contribute towards the improvement and reinvention of the guest experience.
Katz further continued, “We are excited to partner with Shaun and are thrilled to start our collaboration with a promotion that allows us to celebrate his creativity and commitment to give back to those in need.”
While the financial details of the Vail Resorts deal are not being revealed by the company, it would be safe to assume that they are offering White much more than what his previous sponsor Red Bull, the renowned energy drink company, were offering him.
The Californian-based White is one of the most well known athletes in action sports and has been making waves in both, snowboarding as well as skateboarding. The two-time Olympic halfpipe gold medallist has been dominating the sport of snowboarding for nearly
a decade, collecting top honours in both Winter Olympics as well as Winter X Games on a number of occasions.
White has also been walking away with medals in skateboarding competitions, making him the only athlete to be competing and medal in two different sports in both the versions of X Games.
