Shaun Wright-Phillips wants to leave Manchester City
Manchester City winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shaun-Wright-Phillips-c33277 has claimed that he is pondering upon his options for a move away from the Eastlands at the end of the on-going 2010-11 season.
He said, “To be quite honest, I'm here for three months and my heart is set on playing well for that period until the end of the season. Until the season is over, there's nothing much I can really say on the matter. I don't do too much talking, I let my
feet do that for me and that's what I plan on doing.”
The English winger was reportedly linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers and Fulham in the previous transfer window. However, Manchester City boss Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 halted Phillips’ exit, as the Italian wants to play him in place of Adam Johnson, who has been
ruled out for rest of the season.
The 29-year-old English international, who was also given a shocking start in Manchester City’s goalless draw against Aris Salonika, is now being utilised on the right wing ahead of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adam-Johnson-c3537.
He said, “I'm never encouraged by another player's misfortune. I'm just concentrating on playing well myself and working hard in training, as I've done before. There should be opportunities to play, because we're involved in two cup competitions and going
well in the league.”
However, the English winger stated that he is fully committed to the club and would try to capitalise on all the opportunities which would be given to him.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 winger has made only three appearances for Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League so far, which also includes a start in the latest derby defeat against Manchester United.
Wright-Phillips has played six matches in Manchester City colours and has managed to find the net once in Europa League against Timisoara.
