Currently i run about a 52.0- 53.0, anywhere in their i usually run in the open 400. My question is how do i shave off a few seconds. I usually can make it thorough the whole race strong but i do not really have a kick left in me, i don't go any slower the last 100m but i don't go any faster either.

any suggestions??

  1. You will need to do some speed training so you can have a kick in the end.  I used to use resistant traing with my speed training and I shaved a nice amount of time off my 300 low hurdle time.  Good luck

  2. that kinda depends i mean if you don't have a kick because you are just too tired to get enough energy to do a kick or you can sprint faster than your moving but just don't have enough stamina that you are too worn out to do a kick. So depending on the case either do like ladder workouts or 100, 200 repeats. otherwise you should try doing a bit longer things like 400 600 or 400 800 and maybe go out for long runs with the distance group sometimes

  3. You run a 400 in that yet you run...

Eventhough they are longer, I doubt your 400

  4. i would do some longer distance workouts such as 800 or 600 repeats... this will help you build more endurance=kick
