Stoke City defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Shawcross-c31996, is optimistic about making inroads in his international career for England and wants to be a regular in the starting line-up.
The 25-year old received a call up for the Three Lions 24-man contingent for the World Cup Qualifiers by manager, Roy Hodgson, earlier in October.
Although he played no part in the matches against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/San-Marino-c2998, the Potters defender is expected to make his international debut for England on Wednesday, when the team goes head to head against Sweden in a friendly match at Stockholm.
The former Manchester United player is considered as one of the best defenders in the Premier League. He holds a pivotal position in Stoke City’s renowned defence and has been in blistering form over the last couple of months.
Speaking ahead of the tie against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015, Shawcross revealed that he was really excited about making his Three Lions debut.
He claimed that his inclusion in the squad owed to all the hard work that he has put and he is now desperate to grab the opportunity with both hands.
“On a personal level, if I'm doing okay and being consistent, I always felt that I had enough to hopefully break into the England squad,” he told the reporters in an interview.

"It's always good to come away with the national team and now I've been a few times I'm starting to feel at home.”
Shawcross was reportedly pursued in the past by the late Wales manager, Gary Speed, and also by the current Dragons chief, Chris Coleman, who wanted him to play for Wales.
However, the defender spurned their offers as he insisted that he always wanted to represent England and playing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 was never an option for him.
“I've always wanted to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Coleman, and Gary Speed before that, and made it clear that I wanted to play for England, so there was never really any choice,” he added.
The Chester native has made 235 professional club appearances during his career and also got 21 goals under his belt.
