If you guys saw the interview last night, you would know she was asked if she would be coming back to the Olympics in London. She said that she would try her hardest to get back to the Olympics, if she makes it, how well do you think she will do?

  1. yeah i seen the interview.she should do well if the chinese play by the rules and dont have 12 yr olds up again.why did they have passports to prove age and not birth certificate?dont you need a birth cetificate to get a passport?thats another question i suppose.alicia sacramone had more hits then shawn at nbc olympics.com they said, probably because alicia is of age and also a babe

  2. better than before

  3. It will be great to see her in there 2012......fingers crossed for her :)

  4. Considering most girls have reached their full height by about 16, and the 33 year old German woman won a silver, I'd say her chances are pretty good.  Barring a major injury of course.

I'd love to see her come back and hopefully get a few medals.  She's such a great gymnast after all.

  5. A lot depends on individual temperament but I certainly think Shawn Johnson can return and can compete for gold. At that point she will be so much more experienced and will probably make a great captain too.

The reasons I think she can come back are:

    - temperament: all of the competitors have phenomenal skills but the differentiator is often temperament, ie. who makes the least mistakes under pressure. I think she has amazing temperament and that will only get better with time.

    - medicine: sports medicine is advancing to the point where age is getting to be less and less of a disadvantage as time goes by as the many Olympic moms are showing.  Yes, I know it is different in gymnastics and particularly in womens gymnastics where weight and size are so important, but on the other hand she will also probably have stronger muscles and can probably adapt her routines to compensate. She fortunately does not seem to have a naturally large build and hopefully won't go through a growth spurt that makes things more difficult for her.

  6. It'll be a challenge.  She's probably gain some weight and some height so she'll have to make adjustments.

  7. It all depends on how well she trains in the next four years. Numerous gymnasts have returned in the past for "one last ride" but have failed to perform as well as they had in previous Olympics. She should be 20 at the next Olympics so she won't be too old. If she performs as well as she did in these Olympics, she should do fine. Nastia Liukin, on the other hand, will probably be too old to return.

  8. With the time, her skill will be better and I guess next olympics she will get more than one golds.

  9. not as well as this time just because of how the sport is..But she has more experience and knows what to expect so that will help a lot..but I just dont believe she'll be as amazing as she was in '08..

And I tihnk i'll remember her every once and a while and when ever I see gymnastics lol..i'd say i'm one of those guys.  Luiken's drop dead gorgeous as well

  10. GOLDS! ! !

Specially with that cute smile she has!!!

  11. i definately think she'll make she's great, she should get the AA gold. i don't think she'll be too old either beth tweddle a british gymnast will be 27 in 2012 and she wants to have one last go
