Shawn Michaels talks about his retirement days – WWE News
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels claims he is satisfied with this wrestling career. According to the ‘Show Stopper’, the urge to fight does not itch him anymore.
“I certainly don’t get the itch,” said Michaels, who retired following his WrestleMania 26 match against The Undertaker.
“That is something that does not happen to me. I think I do get satisfied when I get to go back to do an appearance and get to be a special referee or just an autograph session. Things like that, which is something I really enjoy. Certainly, I don’t stay
on the sidelines longing to be in the spotlight, but the time that I am, it’s always a great deal of fun,” he added.
Michaels has been making constant appearance ever since he officially retired from the show. As always, his retirement speech was emotional, leaving room for the most entertaining athlete in WWE history to make a return.
With fans chanting ‘one more match’, Michaels left the arena in 2010, at Raw’s SuperShow following his defeat to the Phenom.
Michaels, who suffered a devastating back injury earlier in his career that kept him away from the ring for some time, believes he has already achieved his goals. According to him, he still tries to do his job with dedication, whether it is making ring appearances
or signing autographs.
Michaels has stood by his most famous line ‘Wrestling is my life’. Since he has given much more to the sport than any other superstar, fans love him and appreciate him for even the smallest thing he does. His recent appearances have been much applauded by
fans. They want the Show Stopper to fight once again but he cannot due to his physical condition.
Shawn Michaels acquired professional wrestling training under wrestler Jose Lothario. Michaels made his debut in the World Wrestling Federation in 1988. He started his career with partner Jannetty, forming a tag team alliance that was known as The Rockers.
Since his debut, Michaels became one of the most controversial superstars in the history of WWE. Today, he stands as probably the most loved superstar WWE has ever had.
