Shay Given pleads with Manchester City to let him leave
Shay Given, who was signed by Manchester City after the player displayed a series of fine displays with Newcastle, went on to being one of the stand out performers at the team over the course of the last couple of seasons. The player even went on to become
the fan favorite due to his ability to pull off breathtaking saves and close to impossible stops.
However the team happened to also sign Joe Hart. A keeper who was rather unknown and was supposed to be a player who would take some time to reach his true potential. However what eneded up happening was that Hart went to becoming an overnight sensation
and despite being in his early twenties was being reputed as the future of England at such a young age.
As a direct result of the players brilliant performances he was promoted to the first choice keeper at the club and Given was dropped to the bench. What this lead to was Given seeing close to no playing time and the keeper is now in desperate need to be
on the pitch. The players desperation has escalated to such an extent that the player was reported to have said:"I don't know what City are thinking"
"But on a personal level even to go on loan for a few months, to be playing again, would be good.
"Because I do miss that feeling of playing and the buzz you get from that."
The keeper still possesses the ability to be amongst the best in the world, but if he doesn't get a chance to prove that, then he might end up being another victim of City, who have happened to waste countless players careers due to their greedy nature.
Nonetheless Given is not a player to go down without a fight and with the current approach that the player has, it appears like he might just happen to pull through and earn himself a transfer to another team in the near future, as early as January. With
countless teams waiting for the player to be made available, it's going to be a race to land the player once he does come into the market.
