Shaya Schaedler captures Girls 100m back-stroke crown - 2011 Wyoming High School State Championships
Campbell Country’s young and competitive athlete, Shaya Schaedler presented a great show in back-stroke swimming at the 2011 Wyoming High School State Championships in Gillette, Wyoming, on Monday, October 31. Schaedler went on to win Girls 100m back-stroke
title, while Hailey Pince claimed Girls 100m breast-stroke crown.
Schaedler was up against Emily Spiegelberg and Mara Warburton Smith in a vital race, as Schaedler came out strongly over her rivals and thrashed the finishing wall in a record breaking blot of 56.95 seconds to win the Girls 100m back-stroke title. Spiegelberg
pocketed silver medal in a time of 1 minute and 00.17 seconds, while Warburton Smith went on to win the bronze medal in a time of 1 minute and 02.88 seconds.
In addition, Payton Brilz earned fourth place honours by thrashing the finishing wall in a time of 1 minute and 03.22 seconds and the fifth spot went to Chelsea Austin in a mark of 1 minute and 04.64 seconds. Finally, Casey Van Patten settled for sixth position
in a time of 1 minute and 04.93 seconds.
Then, Hailey Pince of Riverton went on to win Girls 100m breast-stroke crown by posting a winning time of 1 minute and 07.82 seconds. lliana Jones grabbed the silver medal by thrashing the finishing wall in a fastest time of 1 minute and 08.40 seconds, whereas,
Jonna Brown earned bronze title in a mark of 1 minute and 08.52 seconds.
Amy Nissen earned fourth place honours in a stunning mark of 1 minute and 12.72 seconds, while Gretchen Dougherty settled for fifth position in 1 minute and 14.10 seconds. Lastly, the sixth position went to Aerin Gardner in 1 minute and 14.43 seconds.
Moreover, the Girls 100m breast-stroke B final race was clinched by Angella Perry in a time of 1 minute and 13.65 seconds and Kaila Hale settled for second spot in a mark of 1 minute and 14.41 seconds. Hailey Annable pocketed third place in 1 minute and
15.02 seconds, whereas, Allyson Rappleyea had to settle at fourth position in a mark of 1 minute and 15.37 seconds. The fifth place honours went to Logan Smith in 1 minute and 15.48 seconds.
