Fyodor Shcherbachenko has refused to discuss the vacant managerial role at Metallurg stadium and has revealed the reasons behind quitting Mordovia Saransk
Fyodor Shcherbachenko parted company with Mordovia Saransk last month after handing a resignation letter to the management at Start stadium.
Since then, the 50-year-old manager has been linked with a host of European clubs including BATE Borisov, Rubin Kazan and Krylia Sovetov Samara respectively.
News in Russian media suggest that Shcherbachenko is likely to pursue a career at Krylia after Andrei Kobelev’s resignation following the Russian outfit’s below par start to the league campaign this term.
And while the Russian outfit is searching for an appropriate candidate for the vacant managerial position, Aleksandr Tsygankov is acting as a care-taking manager at the Samara-based club.
If speculations are to be believed, Krylia have offered Shcherbachenko a lucrative salary package following the manager’s successful spell at his previous club where he promoted Mordovia to the Russian top division.
However, Shcherbachenko has remained tight lipped over talking about where he will be heading in the near future and refused to discuss the possibility of replacing Kobelev at the helm.
The former FC Tsement Novorossiysk striker, who remained as the assistant coach at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Tom-Tomsk-c39228 and FC Krasnodar before taking the full managerial role at the Saransk-based club, revealed that he is unbothered by the speculations.
“I would not like to talk about any future possibility. We will see when it comes.” The Football Championship of the National League winner was quoted as saying.
Shcherbachenko went on to tell the reason behind leaving Mordovia, saying that he was left frustrated and disappointed by a couple of players, whom he refused to name out, in the team.
“I want to express my gratitude to the former head of appointment at Republic of Mordovia, who hired me to work and with whom he helped the club. The way the Saransk fans displayed a banner in my support, I am extremely touched
by their attitude.” He concluded.
The Baltika Kaliningrad manager insisted that he should not be blamed for the club’ below par campaign.
