"In an interview just a month ago, she dissed the job, saying it didn't seem "productive."

In fact, she said she didn't know what the vice president does.

Larry Kudlow of CNBC's "Kudlow & Co." asked her about the possibility of becoming McCain's ticket mate.

Palin replied: "As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day? I'm used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we're trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.""

Go ahead try to defend this

  1. Do you know exactly what the vice president does?

They only have two things they cast the deciding vote in congress and replace the president if they can no longer serve. That is all they are required to do by the constitution.

What ever else they do is assigned by the president.

  2. The vice president is the president of the senate.  Since the senate only works 120 days of the year, that leaves a lot of time to fill.

That was also a month ago.  Obama said that he wasn't ready to be President six months before he began running for President.

Obama has proven that he has no idea what the President does.  Read his acceptance speech.  Most of what he promises is well outside the realm of the President's authority.

  3. She doesn't even know how to be a good mother, how can she be expected to know something as important as this?

Walmart would have vetted Palin more thoroughly than McPOW did.

  4. The VP job changes from President to President. I'm sure she wanted to know McCains views and what he wanted the VP to handle. Very logical question.

  5. I don't know either,, you tell us,, just what do they do?,,, I don't remember algore doing anything but getting lost...

I think it is purely up to the president at the time,, so how could anyone know?

Oh, I don't go to Huffingtonhatesite,, lol

  6. Danny I can defend it but will you pay attention or is this huffington post promotion week in hopes of dissing the Republican ticket?

The defense is quite simple.  Every president of the United States has determined a different "role" for their vice president.  Some want the VP to be an advisor, some want them to take on certain negotiations and yet others suggest they do "nothing."  It would be impossible for Sarah Palin or Biden to know what their roles as VP would be unless the person asking them to be VP told them.  It is clear 3 weeks ago when this question was asked of Sarah the decision to chose her had not been made.
