I put an ad in a free classified called Kijiji to rehome my 6wk old female kitty August 12th. I received a couple of responses. I received one from a woman with kids, recent divorcee, who was interested. After several e-mails and phone conversations, she came by my home to look at the kitty. She stated she really wanted her the agreed upon fee was $40.00. She stated she did not have the $ them but would bring it by the next day. i trusted her and let her take my dear kitty. I gave her all the essentials, food, litter, bowls, toys, carrier, shot records etc.It is now Sept 2nd, and I have not received any $. I have called her home and job and have emailed her. She always states that she is sick and will pay in a couple of days. I'm at my wit's end WHAT SHOULD I DO,besides physically going to her job and take my cat back(she stated that the cat will come to work with her). i am so angry with myself. I have the kitty's littermate hers and my 1yr old cat all boys. I feel i have let my only girl down HELP

  1. a good home for the cat is more important than your money

  2. I would do just what you said... go to her work and take the cat back or get your $40.

    People like that are flakes

My son did the same thing with a car... and the guy crashed the car and then still wouldn't give him money!

Next time DO NOT ALLOW THE CAT TO LEAVE before the $$ is in your hand.

Also PLEASE get your cat spayed! SOON BEFORE another heat!

  3. lesson learned........the only thing you can continue doing is "harassing" her....and then she may call the cops on you....unless you have proof that she said she'd pay you............then theres really nothing you can do........

you should have waited for her to come up with the money before giving her the cat.

Edit: I thought Kijiji was just for Canada. learn something new everyday! lol

  4. call the police on her.

  5. In my opinion, life's to short, worse things could have happened to you. Live and Learn and go on with life and the cats you still have.

  6. Go to her house and get it back. Or get your money.

  7. Im not sure of the rules in USA but here in UK my vet told me - no one can 'own' a cat - they are classed as 'free spirits'.
