  1. at this age all babies begin to be selective.don't give her the same food every day.make her a vegetable soup with a little salt and a little olive oil, make it then smash everything together, and when you feed her try distracting her talk, tell a story, make funny faces,so she will open the mouth and eat without even thinking of it.

  2. How terrible not to feed a child you should be turned in ! Give them water ! A child is not even suppose to have much water until 1 year boy a lot you know.   Sorry had to vent about that 1 answer.

Maybe you need to go to some stage 1 food maybe just smashing food is not to good. Baby jar food is not full of chemicals and salt like adult food is. If you are doing your own you need to do it from raw foods. Did you start each food one at a time like you are suppose to. Maybe you started to many things at once. You need to do cereal, then veggies the fruit and meat But dont force food she will do it in her own time. Wait a couple days and then try again.

  3. she'll start reaching for other peoples food when shes ready, or shell start crying alot while everyone else is eating

  4. Don't give milk until after she eats the food.

If she eats no food for 8-10 hours, give her water only.

    She will not starve herself.

  5. Don't push it...just stop for a while.

There is no rush anyway, babies diet should be mostly milk until a year old.

My 9 month old is not bothered about food much...she'll eat a few spoonfuls and that is it.

    Don't stress.

  6. Try yogurt, my daughter would not eat any cereal or food either but she loved yogurt. You can get an organic inexpensive kind at wal-mart called "YoBaby" some of it has cereal at the bottom. And it's good for them.

  7. She'll eat when she's ready.  You can't force a baby to be ready for solid food anymore than you can force them to walk or talk.  Sure, you can shove it down their throat, but you can't make them ready to eat it.

Just keep offering her food, and respecting her wishes if she rejects.  Sooner or later she WILL eat. Everyone does. Forcing the issue will just make her hate it and set the stage for food battles later.
