Okay my mom treats me like total c**p and doesn't appreciate anything that i do so since i was 16 i have been working and saving money and i turn 18 sep 9th and well my friend lives in this apartment building and they have a a unit that there keeping for me until i can legally sign the lease and i can very much afford it and i do have a car. But anyway they moved into this house they cant afford and so they got a roommate and well the roommate doesn't want to live here either because she goes in his room and takes stuff and snoops. And so he is moving out end of september and so she has to find a job well today she found one and she wants me to stop working stop my social life so i can watch her kids full time and she is only paying 75 a month. Well since all of this happened today i have decided to move out the 9th the day of my bday and she might have to work that day so she will have to quit or find childcare which she wont so is this wrong for me to leave and regardless if it is or not i am still moving out in early sep just wanted some opinions thanks =)

  1. Your question is quite confusing to me.  At 18 you are legally able to move out and be your own person.  If you can have a nice place and work, go for it.  But don't quit your job for $75/mo to watch someone's children.  You'll never be independent and make enough money that way.

  2. You can legally move out at 18, however, it is a bad idea to change your life for a friend who doesn't seem very stable. Keep your job and live your own life. Learn to make decisions that are good for you. Don't depend on this friend to pay you to watch her kids.

Have you ever watched the Judge shows on TV to see how friends take advantage of each other? It is NOT your fault that she has to quit a job because of no child care. Where is the child's father or her relatives in all this? This is entirely her problem. Don't let her guilt you into helping her. You can put up with your Mom for a few more weeks.

Don't rush into anything like that, Hon. Let her take care of her own business and you take care of yourself.
