She wont stop putting her hands in her mouth!

Question

my 3 and a half month old is a very active and healthy baby she actally will spit out her soother just to put her hand in her mouth ive tried everything from putting a sock on her hand to wrapping her up.

the sock will go in her mouth just as the hand and soake the wrapping did not go so well either she gets mad because she cant move and shell just fuss. what do i do?

Some babies are just like that :)  My now two year old loved to chew on his hands and my newest addition loves it as well.  Keep on trying though if you prefer her not chew on her hand.  Give her teething rings that are chilled in the refrigerator or a plastic ring.  Best wishes!

it's ok really even if they are sweaty and stinky she will be fine really

my daughter is almost 4 and i've caught her eating dirt and worms a couple of times and she is completly fine

imagine the things your baby will put in her mouth as she gets older

you really need to get over the hand thing really she will be fine

shes teething put med on it prescribed by doc.

Just relax, mom.

Let her put her hand in her mouth.  It's good for her!  You need to really learn to relax because believe me- she is going to put a lot more gross things in her mouth before she's a year old.  You can't put her in a bubble!

That's what babies do.  They explore by putting everything in their mouth, so I would be more worried if she DIDN'T do it.  Just let her be, and wash her as needed.  

While you're at it, you may want to pick up a book on infant development.  I'm not saying this to be offensive, but I noticed that you asked another question about how to get your baby to stop curling her toes (another normal infant behavior).  Reading up on typical development may help ease your mind when it comes to certain things that aren't a cause for concern.

My 4 month old does it all the time.  The downfall is that she always ends up gagging herself and spitting up half her bottle.
